Coach D was the only one to accept the challenge, and after practice Coach Mike Wilcox (FHS) stated to Coach D see you tomorrow! Coach D laughed and mentioned he was a basketball player not a swimmer. After a conversation between Coach Wilcox and Coach D’s mother, he was at practice the next day (mother knows best---or else!!). Over the summer, Coach D learned how to swim Butterfly. In his senior year, he went on to compete in the 100 Fly, 50 Free and 100 Free. After his senior year, he went on to compete at Hiram College.
